I got this to connect to an adaptor for a 20lb bulk tank and it worked great. The two main benefits I see are a) it seems less likely to bend or break the connection between the gas input line and the stove than if the bulk-tank line were hanging from the end of the brass arm-style connector that came with stove. b) by being able to hang off the edge of the table (vs. the brass arm and 1lb tank resting on the table) it reduced the overall footprint of the stove.
