These treads are very soft and comfortable. The only part that was difficult was the backing on the treads to hold them down. Peeling it off, you have to go slow, otherwise the plastic splits and is hard to get hold of. They do stay where you put them.

Great for dogs and people

We got these primarily for our dog, who had trouble with our wood stairs because one tread was a slightly different color. Now all the treads are the same color and the dog manages the stairs without trouble! We also discovered that they are comfortable to walk on, quiet, and safer for people too rather than slippery wood treads. They peel and stick very easily. I made a template of the step out of cardboard so the pads on every step are identically placed. Not sure if the adhesive will last forever, but I plan to use carpet tape if additional adhesion is needed. Definitely a good purchase!
