Would not hold pedal position

The pedal position is defined by a couple of allenhead set screws. However, these were not sufficient to hold the pedal position, especially when the pedal was depressed sufficiently to engage the two end carburetors. We overcame the problem by determining where the set screws would be positioned on the rotating shaft. Then we removed the pedal, drilled two shallow holes in the rotating shaft, replaced the pedal and tightened the set screws. This ensured that the pedal would not lose its position due to slipping. It works great now.

Poor quality and finish

Purchased the same pedal over 8 years ago and the pedal was very good quality. Had to buy a replacement and found the below. The hole for the throttle cable was too small. I had to machine it out. The hole for the throttle cable was not centered and had to be reworked. The arm were it should go into the bracket on the end of the throttle cable was way to wide. I had to work it down to fit. I paid for a polished piece and its no longer polished in that area. The mounting holes are wider than the original pedal. I tried to mount the pedal to the steel plate w/ tapped holes made to fit the original pedal and the new pedal assemble holes were further apart. Thus the new pedal assembly had to have the holes enlarged and it still was a problem making it fit. Finally. The over all quality, polish and appearance were not nearly as good as the original pedal.
