Of these 8 stories, the title story addresses most directly the experience of aging, going so far as to map a whimsical tour of the days of the week zeroing in on some aspect of eros on each day. The stories are not however all about old people. Some of the characters are young; some are less foolish than others; and some of them, as suggested by the title "A Few Animals," are not people at all.
