Key item features

Over the years, video games have evolved from the simple platforming adventures of Mario and Luigi into cinematic experiences that match the big-budget blockbusters of the silver screen. Looking to take this idea one step further, the London Philharmonic Orchestra adapts some of the most recognizable songs from some of gaming's biggest franchises to the grandeur of the orchestra on The Greatest Video Game Music, Vol. 2. With a selection that spans games big and small as well as old and new, the breadth of songs covered here is certainly impressive. Whether it's the main theme of the SNES classic Chrono Trigger, "Never Forget/Peril" from Microsoft's epic Halo, or "Adventure" from the mind-bending and wildly innovative indie platformer Fez, this compilation has a little something for every gamer, no matter what his or her preferred genre might be. While those unfamiliar with the source material will certainly be able to appreciate the care and skill put into the scores for these games, this compilation will definitely find a good home with enthusiasts looking to add a little extra culture to their favorite pastime. ~ Gregory Heaney, Rovi

The Second-Greatest Video Game Music

I really like this album; it had some of the best music around, such as AS:Revelations Theme, Halo 2: Never Forget and Peril, and One Winged Angel from FF VIII. However, I felt that this album was a little cheap compared to the first one. The guy on the cover is a repeat of the inside cover of volume one. Also, the background doesn't have as much depth as the cover of the first. The music seems more electronic than the first volume. However, this is a good quality album for a good price. I got this album for $9 plus no shipping since I picked it up at the store. I had to pay about $16 dollars from Kmart to get volume one. This is worth the money comparitively, but if I could only get only one volume, I would get volume one.
