Droll Yankees 16 Inch Ring Pull Seed Bird Feeder

The Classic !-6RP Ring Pull feeder is an ingenious delivery system to feed your birds and prevent squirrels from eating the seeds. This model is an updated version of the first tubular bird feeder that was invented in 1969. When my Droll Yankees Feeder arrived, I read the literature and began by cleaning the feeder. I just pulled the ring pull and the pieces of the feeder fell away into my bucket for cleaning. I soaked everything in a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water. I have a feeder cleaning brush but as this was new I did not need to use it this time. I made sure all the pieces were dried and then I began to reassemble the feeder. It was just as described; very easy! I began by inserting the ring pull rod through the top two ports and followed the process for each of the other male and female ports. This process was amazing and allows for the cleaning of every piece of the feeding port which ensures that your birds are not bringing diseases back to their nest. Once I filled the feeder, I then placed it on my feeding pole allowing the birds to find their new delivery system that protects them from disease and the intrusion of squirrels. The birds love this feeder and I now have three to six birds feeding at the same time. I know the birds are very happy because the number of birds feeding increases every day. I highly recommend this great inventive product!

Happy Birds

The birds and I really love this bird feeder. The ring pull design is amazing. It's so easy to take this feeder apart to clean the tube and metal perches AND it's equally easy to put it all back together! I use a bottle brush, dish soap, and very hot water to clean it out and keep the birds healthy. I'm glad the polycarbonate tube won't turn yellow over time like other feeders I've had. The metal parts mean no breaking and no squirrels chewing it up. I'm using mixed seed and a small cup to load the seed into the tube. About 10 minutes after hanging this feeder up the Black-capped chickadees were happily eating seeds from it. I'm looking forward to years of bird watching with this feeder.

Easy to clean and use! Works for birds here!

This bird feeder is very well designed and compact. It can contain plenty of bird feed, and it attracts the common birds in my area. I do not have a variety of food in the feeder, but I do have some that attract certain birds more than others. I think birds now know my place as a spot for food and often comes for food. The only thing is, where birds eat, they poop too sometimes. So I have to be sure to hang it onto an extended branch from a tree or something, instead of directly on my back patio.
