I've had one of these pads for years, and I decided to get a new one. We always have a cut Christmas tree that we place in a five gallon bucket vs a tree stand. The pad insures that if the bucket were to leak, our floors would remain dry. Provides peace of mind for the holidays.

Tree Stand Mat works as advertised.

This is a rugged mat. I have no doubt it will perform well if any liquids are spilled on it. The only suggestion I would have is that the mat should be rolled up when packaged . . . not folded. (Perhaps a long mailing tube would be best for this purpose.) The folds have left permanent creases in the mats backing material which I have not yet been able to remove, and this makes it difficult to lay it perfectly flat on the floor. As for machine washing, I don't see how this would be possible in a regular washing machine. The backing material is very stiff. Laying it out on a flat surface outside and hosing it down is the best way I've found, so far.
