The Lieutenant

As a retired Regular Army officer (YG 80), I found this series delightfully realistic, candid and still quite currrent in how it portrayed a young officer's trials and tribulations. I found myself recalling how I had gone through similar leadership and personal experiences on each episode. Despite being made in the early 60s, it is still a timely piece. If you are a young officer (regardless of service) you'll get something out of and even learn something watching this series, it isn't as "hokey" as you might think it might be. If you are a seasoned officer you'll get nostalgic and even find yourself going through the "what would I do" routine. Can't say enough good about this DVD, you won't be disappointed.

Listen Up!

This is an excellent DVD purchase. Please keep in mind that the complete one year series in contained in two (2) packages. I remember the series for the original broadcast in 1963 - 64 and some of the episodes are still moving and very entertaining. There are two or three painfully directed ones though but all are worth watching. Several episodes were directed by young talent like Richard Donner who later became big time movie people.
