Legion 5i is a sleek, mean, machine

First. I didn't purchase my Legion 5i from WM. I got it on that other big e-commerce site. HOWEVER. It was only because of price and what I got for that price. The machine itself is worth every penny WM or that other site is asking. My system differs from this offering by 32gRAM instead of 16g, and a 1T SSD, instead of 512g. THAT'S IT. My system was a one-off, something that probably won't happen anytime soon, from a guy who owns a software company in D.C.--brand new out of the box it was $1250. Yeah, this one is a couple hundred more expensive, and a bit less RAM/SSD storage, but that's cheap to upgrade. The system itself is HEAVY, well built and solid. Clicky keyboard, backlit with 2 settings. Screen is matte/no glare, and huge. With the 144Hz rate...I am seeing things in my games that were literally NOT THERE with my cheaper HP Pavilion GeForce 1650 Ti. The GeForce 3060 is insanely crisp and even. Benchmarking puts this system in the top 75th percentile overall. The card GPU can run a little hot on AAA games, but that's easily overcome with undervolting and a cooling pad. My system never runs above 60 degrees while gaming. The i7 CPU is FAST. Loads fast, stays cool (ish). Overclocking would be something of interest, but why. Just more heat and danger of instability. It's fast and powerful enough to run any AAA game, stream in HDR and run powerful graphics software for my work. Comparitively, the GPU and CPU of Legion up against my Pavilion? No contest. I purchased the Pavilion in 2019 for 1K. Nice at the time. the GTX cards are okay. But the new RTX cards...just insanely immersive and realistic. Lenovo also has a dashboard that scans the system constantly, t make sure everything is running at peak performance. My system didn't have bloatware--probably something from my particular seller---but it's easy enough to download Winaero Tweaker to get rid of all of that nonsense that isn't needed (like MS Edge, any e-commerce crap, and even Office. dowload free and spyware free software like OpenOffice, TOR/Mozilla). Be sure to get a cooling pad for gaming. Just protect your investment. Overclocking is a bad idea with something that runs so well out of the box, but learn to undervolt. The system is one of the best buys I have made in years. It has brought real enjoyment to playing games (for me) and made working with the larger screen/keyboard so much easier. Get rid of the bloatware and you've got a raging machine that can handle just about anything for a reasonable price. P.S. I skinned mine with an M2Skins vinyl combo designed just for Legion, for about $35. Keeps the case pristine and with a keyboard cover, the dust to a minimum inside the case.
