I bought my first Grand Trunk hammock while on vacation in the New Mexico Mountains as a place to relax while my husband fished. I used it and the straps it came with for the entire vacation and had no problems. However, upon returning home to Southern AZ, I found that there weren't quite as many trees here to hold my new hammock up. Because of this, the trees I did find were much further apart than the standard issue ropes would allow. So I went down to the local outdoors store and purchased the Tree Slings Hanging Kit. Problem solved. I love this kit because it is so easy to use. I can set my hammock up in less than 2 minutes anywhere I go, without having to hassle my husband to do it for me. I also love that the knot system makes it so versatile. If I have two knots that are too far apart -when knot 2 is makes the hammock too tight and knot 3 too loose- I can always tie my own at the exact location that I need. Because this kit is so easy to use I take it EVERYWHERE. I use it all the time. -Camping, fishing, trips to the park, picnics in the mountains -wherever. Once while we were camping, I watched my husband try to get comfortable stretched out on two lawn chairs and felt guilty for hogging MY hammock. He now has his own hammock complete with Tree Sling kit. Now I'm thinking one for kids to keep them out of mine. Wonder if that's too much as we don't have kids of our own...

I purchased this set as a gift for my daughter. I have a set that I have used for several years and really like it. It is easy to use and small to carry. I would definitely recommend the hanging kit to anyone wanting to use a hammock at home or on the trail!
