Shepard Fairey is an American contemporary street artist, graphic designer, activist, illustrator, and founder of OBEY Clothing who emerged from the skateboarding scene. To call Shepard Fairey a “street artist” is deceptive. Although he rose to some notoriety with his “Andre The Giant Has A Posse” sticker campaign out of the skateboarding scene in the late ’80s, he has found a long-term following and success as artist-activist.
