I got this pen as the first italic nib I have. If you are starting, maybe this will be a bit too wide...go for the fine nib.

Don't waste your money

The pen has a medium point which writes as if it were an extra wide point. The ink flows in gobs and the writing quality is poor. I used fountain pens 55 years ago and wanted to use one again. Huge disappointment.
