Happy Red Eared Sliders

I love that these filters come ready to use, no assembly required. I have students cleaning the turtle tanks, and this is something they can do easily. The cost one these was much more reasonable than the medium fish filters used in the same turtle tank. The tank uses two, which are changed weekly in the warmer seasons. The filters have really removed a lot of the fishy smell from the tank.

Thank you for your review. If you are using this in a turtle tank, be sure to have a large enough tank and filter for the turtle. They require ten gallons of water for every inch of turtle so a 4-5 inch turtle needs a 55 gallon tank, for example. This filter is suitable for up to that size. Larger ones require a canister filter. Additionally, turtles will require a weekly partial water change of 50% because there isn't a filter that can completely keep up with their waste as they produce a LOT. For smaller animals, like newts, frogs, etc., they also require weekly water changes but not such large ones.
