Attention please: The jaw of tongs may be bend or out of round shape because of manufacture and shipping mistakes, it may be smaller or larger than your crucible ( not perfectly fit with your crucible). That is normal. You need to hammer it by yourself to correct the ring, need only several minutes to correct shape. If you forge the ring to red hot status, then it will be more easier to hammer the ring. Please don't buy if you mind.
Normally for a 10KG or 12KG or 16 KG crucible in market, their diameter is around 6--7 in ( 150--170 mm), you can hammer the tong to fit with crucible.
Use safety goggles, mask as well as gloves while casting metals.
