Heavy, sturdy, beautiful dishes. I love that this set didn't come with more mugs or cups and saucers that I don't need. The bowls are amazing..we use them for so much, like pasta, casseroles, etc. I bought enough sets for a service of 12. Great set..you won't have buyer's remorse.
