Purchased sensor fixed the problem.

My car essentially stopped moving with the codes showing O2 sensor failure. The upstream/downstream O2 sensors arrived quickly. I bought both of them, but needed to install only the upstream sensor right away (along with new spark plugs and MAF sensor purchased elsewhere). After installation the car works fine, the check engine signal does not come back. I bought multiple parts from 1A Auto in the past, did not have any problems with them so far.
