Difficult to germinate
Both my neighbor who's about 1/4 mile away & I try to grow these every year bc we love the flavor - the bast bush beans! But both of us struggle to get them to germinate. We keep trying & get maybe 30-40% germination. Then they struggle to produce. But after massively over-seeding them, some grow & once they start producing really do well. But what a lot of work it is to get some productive plants! We compare notes, my neighbor & I, and try different soil, add compost, organic fertilizer, etc., no help. But I will keep buying the seeds & trying because they're so good sautéed and or blanched & frozen for eating in the winter.

These green beans are delectable! Just had my last harvest September 9 in Virginia!! We have enjoyed just steaming the beans and eating with a slight sprinkle of salt. Amazing!
