I have the V10 Total Clean for approx 10 days now. It's immediately evident that this machine surpasses it's predecessors on multiple fronts. I have an 8 year old corded Dyson that we still use today and a Cordless Dyson DC35 which is a slim cordless. However with this V10 it looks that both of these machines will be rendered obsolete !
1. Out of the box:
The V10 is bigger than current cordless models and the heads are similar in size to full size corded vacuums. (of course this brings some added weight that takes a little while to get used to)
2. Attachments:
There are multiple attachments as you can see in the photos attached. 2 of the attachments I could't see referenced in the booklet but are an extension pipe and an up top attachment. (the extension hose is great to use with a brush head to vacuum wooden slat blinds - try it!)
3. First Use:
On first use you will be amazed as to how much suction this machine actually has ! With the motorised head it extracts dirt from carpets unlike any machine has done before. (It's very fine dust and dirt that the prior machines were not picking up, dust that's not visible to the naked eye when looking at the carpet , but it's there, buried within the fibres of your carpet and the good news is that the V10 extracts them - take a look at the collection bucket when finished). You will be amazed at the suction and cleaning characteristics of the motorised heads.
4. Attachments in action:
As mentioned use the flexible extension hose with a brush head for cleaning dust from wooden slat blinds.
The small motorised head in the car is a gift! The motorised head is so powerful that you don't need to remove mats to do a deep clean. All of the other normal attachments get into the crevices and corners.
5. Battery Life:
As mentioned in reviews by other contributors, when using the motorised heads the battery life is reduced from the advertised 60 mins life. However when you see the extraction capabilities of the heads you will understand that they have to be using significant extra power from the battery to drive such suction and cleaning.
My view is to use low to mid power on hard floors (as this is more than sufficient for those without impacting performance) then use the high power to deep clean carpets, mats etc, With this method the battery life is extended and I can clean and average sized 3 bed semi on one charge.
