key working parts are plastic (short lived)

I was shopping for a durable water wand made of metal. Before buying this one I had looked over the description info to see what materials this one was made of...Specifications Features said...'material: aluminum...construction: aluminum'. I then looked carefully at the representative photo to see if it was metal or plastic...it looked mostly metal except for the on/off flow lever. So I decided to order it. Was I ever wrong! The only thing metal is the red violet neck and the shower plate. The shower head that holds the shower plate and the black lever, plus its connector base, are both red plastic. The 'red' colors don't even match. I can say it's flashy and won't be lost in the grass easily...that's a definite plus. This water wand is just another in a long line of cheap and short life tools. I should have known...plastic is just getting more and more expensive. Better to just go with top of the line and be done with the cheaper models. Quality construction just ain't what it used to be. It gets two stars because it will last for a short while and I'll at least be able to fork over some more moolah and order metal parts for it (head and lever/connector bottom). That way, when the plastic parts fail, I don't end up having to add to the landfill by throwing the whole thing away.
