Easy DIY if you carefully follow the manual!

So far I have installed the unit on my boat and have confirmed that it is operating off the ignition when switched. The alternator shines green if connections are correct. Was a bit challenging on my boat the route the cables. I was also short on the cable to the trolling motor battery and required the MK EC15 extension to complete my install. I will update my review to confirm that it actually is charging my trolling battery when I get a chance when it warms up to get my boat on the water.

Never Have to Remove Your Batts Again!

I have had this 3-bank model for 3 years now and I've never had to take the 60+ lbs. AGMs out since. I have a clamp amp meter and in idle my 200 merc provides all the current my 105# MG needs (*mid speed and lower). I don't have shore power at my slip so taking these AGMs in and out would have been a royal PIA. They are always topped up and ready to go every time. I highly recommend over anything anyone else says!

Broke on first run.

Hooked up to a late 80s Evenrude 2 stroke 70hp and a lead acid 27 series deep cycle battery. It worked fine at idle but broke at full speed. My stator is not working properly on the motor, but I don't think that should fry the thing out. If I had a four stroke with an actual alternator I would buy another one.
