Espoma Organic Tomato-Tone Vegetable Food, 3-4-6 Fertilizer, 8 lb.

I buy this every year to use when I amend my soil for planting tomatoes and peppers. I plant all of my veggies in pots, since we have a lot of Bermuda grass in our yards and it tends to try to take over anything we plant in the ground. I like to buy a half yard of fresh soil and mix it with last year's soil. Then I add things like this fertilizer, bone meal, blood meal, etc. I like to use a granular fertilizer, such as Espoma, because it's easy to mix into the soil and I feel like it ends up pretty evenly dispersed. It helps give my tomato and pepper starts the nutrition they need to really get going. I usually switch over to liquid fertilizers for the rest of the season.

My mother gave me half a bag of this plant food and the same company’s general veggie plant food. Both are awesome. My friend’s husband gave me a little sprout of these very fancy tomatoes. I think they’re called cosmic tomatoes or some such thing. They love this tomato food. The color is unusual, but they are delicious, and they love this food.
