I broke one of the plastic blades because it hit a metal/wire tomato cage. So my fault, not the machine's. Now I am using one of the 2 metal blades . it has a nick in it because of clipping another darn tomato cage, but blade didn't break and is still cutting my tough tall weeds. The battery lasts a really really long time. Much longer than I expected. The tool is VERY light weight and easy for me to use (i am a 69 year old, obese, little woman with carpal tunnel and can use this). I was able to weed wack an area (that last time cost me $100. to have done by landscaper) and I will be able to do this once or twice a month or as needed - I paid under $75 for this , it came with 2 rechargeable batteries.
