Top Doesn't Fit the Base

Top cushion/tray is 3/4"" diameter smaller than the base opening making it too loose of a fit. There is a large gap around the perimeter between the cushion and ottoman base. The top falls out of the base if tilted on its side and it moves around freely to the touch. This is either a terrible design flaw or a major manufacturing screw up that should have been caught before packaging and shipping.
