This item was fairly simple to install. Just remember to measure so that when the door on the box closes, the plastic piece that holds the flag in place is in the right position to hold the flag in place! Works great! I can see it from my door window and now know when the mail has arrived without having to go out and check. Even my mail carrier complemented me on it. Yes, I do recommend this item. Although, I looked around and found it about half the price I paid for this one, elsewhere, (Amazon). So search around before buying the first one you see.
