New Headlight Assembly Improves Brightness

I felt lost trying to decide whether to purchase whole new assemblies so I'm hoping this review will help others. The Sorento is known for having dim headlight issues - several years ago we noticed we had to have high beams on just to feel safe driving at highway speeds or on poorly lit streets. I purchased extremely bright LED bulbs to help but they didn't make a difference. In my research I read where others had described a "burning out" of the reflective surface that helps project the beam, and that what was needed was a new assembly (the assemblies are glued together so you can't just buy one small part for inside the assembly and not have to ruin the whole thing to replace that part). Buying an entire new assembly didn't make sense to me but my wife convinced me, so I started pricing them out. OEM assemblies were about $600 each and off-brand ones were between $100-$300 each. We didn't think we'd need to get more than 5 years out of the lights so I opted for these, among the cheapest of the bunch but also had the LED strip as part of the daytime running lamps. They're probably all made abroad by the same manufacturer anyway, right? Swapping out the assembly wasn't super easy, but if you've done other minor repair work on your car this should be within your capability. The assemblies themselves were fine. They fit well in the car and the headlight beam adjustment mechanism was actually better made than OEM. The screw-on caps that cover each bulb were a little flimsier than the originals, so I just swapped the original caps onto the new assemblies and they fit fine. There are also 2 U-shaped rubber hoses that appear to be used for ventilation within the assembly. The new hoses fit pretty loosely, and they were missing small filters inside them that the originals had (and the originals fit more snugly, too), so again I just swapped out the hoses, putting the old ones onto the new assembly. Probably most importantly in all of this, the low beams were significantly brighter with the new assemblies - I assume that means the reflective surfaces for the low beams on the old assemblies had in fact been worn/burned from the heat of the bulbs. I'd buy these again in a heartbeat if the need presented itself.
