I wanted these specifically to neatly store popcorn on the side of the microwave for easy access. This worked out perfectly with just 2 of the 4 racks in the package. There are 2 small racks and 2 slightly larger racks. There is no assembly required as the magnets are already adhered to the back of each rack. Then magnetic strength is pretty good on the microwave which works out since the popcorn is not heavy enough to cause stability issues. I tested them on the fridge and the magnet strength there is phenomenal - I could barely pull the rack off the fridge once it attached. I was glad to find a magnetic storage solution in a size and style that I liked so I didn't notice the listing said they are plastic. They are a very thick durable plastic and work very well for my needs.
