Head Gasket Bolts Set Fit 04-14 Cadillac Chevrolet GMC Buick 4.8 & 5.3 OHV. The head gasket is the key component of the engine. It is compressed between the engine block and the cylinder head. The head gasket seals in the internal combustion process to make sure maximum compression is achieved and also keeps coolant and oil from mixing together as the two fluids travel from the engine block to the cylinder head. Time will come that your head gasket will leak or blow. The cylinder head bolts hold the cylinder head and cylinder head gasket in place and ensure that the cylinder head will continue to hold up despite the tremendous amounts of pressure in the combustion chamber. Therefore the cylinder head bolts, and cylinder head gasket are an important part of your engine. They should always be in perfect condition and should be maintained properly. So, if you notice that this part is showing signs of excessive wear, have them replaced immediately. Be sure to have your engine gaskets, and head bolts replace with aftermarket replacement head gasket bolts set as soon as it starts to give you trouble.

Remark: The valley pan gasket in this does NOT fit on engines with Active Fuel Management (A.F.M.) system. These engines have two different designs for the head bolts. 1st design head bolts have 16 Long Bolts: 150mm, 4 Short Bolts: 100mm, 10 Small Bolts: 45mm. 2nd design head bolts have 20 Long Bolts: 100mm, 10 Small Bolts: 45mm. This kit ONLY FITS engine with 2ND DESIGN HEAD BOLTS (20 long bolts: 100mm, 10 small bolts: 46mm). Please double check your engine head bolts to make sure this kit will fit your engine before making the purchase.
This is a 3-bolt cam (Gen III LS), if you have a single bolt cam (Gen IV LS) you will need to purchase 3-bolt cam gear conversion kit.Not compatible with Active Fuel Management (AFM). Custom computer tuning required.Automatic's will perform best with a 2,600-2,800 Stall Converter.
