This set of shoe holders is a good buy compared to others. The assembly was clumsy and frustrating but got somewhat easier as you went along. They are surprisingly sturdy after they are assembled. Each box has slots and pegs to hook with the others. They can be but there are no slots or pegs on top or bottom. I purchased the larger size that can accommodate men's and women's sizes. The boxes will hold more than one pair of flat shoes and sandles. A pair of shoes with much heel or running shoe type sneakers takes the whole box . A double stack fits nicely on the shelf in my closet, keeping them eye level. The front of the box is clear so you can see the shoes inside and it opens and closes easily. They could easily be used to store other lightweight items like small purses. The cost was very reasonable. They arrived in a few days and were well packed for shipping. Just be prepared for a bit of difficulty putting them together. I like them enough that I will probably purchase an additional set. Definitely recommend these shoe holders.

Took a few tries until I got the first box put together, but then it was pretty easy. It looks like the picture. I was able to fit women's size 10 ankle height boots upright into each box. I was able to fit a pair of ankle boots with a heel laying sideways.
