I got these mixing bowls to replace an old set of plastic bowls that had finally just gotten too ugly to use. -The bowls arrived quickly; in just two days. -I really like the way the lids are made; they have about a 1/2 inch "indentation" so they don't sit in the top of the bowls. This means you can use just one hand to pick up the bowls, move them around, etc. For me the lid design is great when I'm removing them from the fridge because they don't require two hands but they are still stable. -The bowls look nice - the exterior isn't truly "brushed" but have enough texture to keep fingerprints hidden. And they compact enough that they take-up much less room in my very compact kitchen. -I can't judge durability yet so I'll have to wait to see if they develop any rust or other issues. -I grew up in the 60s/70s and can say for sure that these bowls are not anywhere close to the substantial weight or quality as my mom's 3 piece set that she got in 1957 and had until she passed in 2009. -If anything changes regarding durability I'll update this review. -I recommend this set of stainless steel mixing bowls.
