The front chain ring has 25 teeth. The smallest cog in the rear has 14 teeth. 25/14 is a slow bike. Possibly it's the best thing if a munchkin is riding it, but it's not for everyone. A 25/9 ratio, which is typical for BMX, translates to about 39/14. I put a 42tooth crank on it. Other than that, it's a good value
