my issues was with the packaging and delivery. I ordered 3 six packs of glass jars, they were all packed in one GIANT box with ZERO padding, 1/2 the jars are broken. I have to either return them now by fed ex or take the broken items to the store for refund. I am still shocked that there was NO PROTECTION for shipping GLASS

The first name in mason jars... since 1884

Ball is almost synonymous with Mason Jars. They were the first company to commercially produce what is now known as the modern mason jar... Having secured a deal directly with the inventor John Landis Mason. There are other brands on the market... but I prefer the tried and true, reliable and sturdy, original Ball Mason Jars. Having said that, there really is no better place than Walmart to purchase mason jars when you need them. The price differential is extraordinary to say the least. If one were to look at other online eCommerce sites, I believe the price difference would be quite shocking to the ill prepared. As an example, a quick Google search shows that one of the largest (if not largest) online retailers, sells the Ball half gallon mason jars (in a set of six, like the ones I am now reviewing) for ... More Than Double The Price I paid at Walmart! For exactly the same product, in the same size, and the same amount. More than double the price elsewhere. For exactly the same thing. It just does not make logical sense to purchase this item anywhere else.

I decided my cannister set was not the most efficient use of space and I was tired of seeing the cutesy fruit painted onnthem and that clear jars would make it more likely I'd bake more frequently. It takes two of these to hold 5 pounds of all purpose flour and one of these and a pint jar holds 4 pounds of granulated sugar. If I figure out where to keep another 6 of these, I will be getting another pack to hold more staples.
