It provides shorter braking distances along with good cornering traction and treadwear. The ContiSportContact 5 uses Continental's unique "Black Chili™" compound with an asymmetric tread design that adapts to the road surface improving grip and cornering stability. The Black Chili compound's material react to braking forces by building up head to shorten the brakin distance on wet and dry roads while reducing rolling resistance. All this equals a faster stopping tire that remains much cooler further increasing life and fuel consumption.
