Motorcycle Tire Limited Warranty and Adjustment Policy 1.Eligibility – Warranty Not Transferable; Original Equipment Tires This Limited Warranty and Adjustment Policy is made only to original retail purchasers of Continental motorcycle tires and is not transferable. The original retail purchaser of a new motorcycle equipped with new Continental tires will be considered to be the original retail purchaser of such tires. The warranty period with respect to such tires will begin on the date such motorcycle is delivered to such purchaser. 2.What is the Adjustment Policy and How Long is it Applicable? a) Basic Coverage: Subject to the Warranty Conditions listed below, Continental warrants to the original retail purchaser that every new Continental motorcycle tire bearing the Continental name and serial number sold by an authorized United States or Canadian motorcycle tire dealer or motorcycle manufacturer and used in the United States or Canada will be free from defects in material and workmanship without time or mileage limitation. If a warrantable condition is present, a new replacement tire will be provided free of charge or at reduced price based on percentage of tread wear remaining. This warranty is limited, however, to the following: If a defect in material or workmanship appears in any such tire under normal use and service, and the tire is presented to any authorized Continental motorcycle tire dealer in the United States or Canada, the dealer, upon presentation of proof of purchase, will replace the tire free of charge with a new Continental motorcycle tire of the same type, provided such delivery and presentation to the dealer is made before the original tread depth of the tire is worn more than 50%. If such delivery and presentation to the dealer is made after the original tread depth is worn more than 50% and before the tire has been worn down to the level of the treadwear indicators (showing that the final 1/32nd of an inch or less remains, at which point the tire is considered to be worn out), the dealer will provide such purchaser with a new Continental motorcycle tire of the same type at one half of the dealer’s then current retail selling price for such tire. However, no such replacement or price reduction will be made with respect to any tire claimed to be out of round, unless such delivery and presentation to the dealer is made before the original tread depth of the tire is worn 1/32nd of an inch or less. Moreover, no such replacement or price reduction will be made with respect to cosmetic defects in any tire labeled “Blem”. b) Warranty Conditions - In Order for this Limited Warranty to Apply: ° If the tire is either a tube type tire or a tubeless type tire used on a rim requiring an inner tube, the tire must be fitted with a new, undamaged inner tube of the correct size. ° The tire or tube must not be affected by any road hazard, e.g., cut, bruise, puncture, snag or impact break, whether repairable or not. ° The tire or tube must not be affected by accident, fire, vandalism, abuse, misuse, internal or external chemical deterioration, corrosion or unusual operating conditions. ° The tire or tube must be the size specified by the motorcycle manufacturer for the motorcycle, or an equivalent replacement size, and must be properly mounted, balanced and fitted to the rim. ° The tire or tube must not be modified by the addition or removal of material or repaired. ° The tire or tube must not be overloaded, run flat or run overinflated or underinflated. ° The tire or tube must not be prematurely worn or damaged by any obstruction on or defect in any part of the motorcycle, or by wheel misalignment or spinning, as in mud or sand, on ice or during balancing. ° Liquid balancers or sealants, or any substance other than air, must not be used at any time as the sustaining agency in the tire or tube. ° The tire or tube must not be used for off-the-road purposes or in activities not recommended by the motorcycle manufacturer. ° The tire or tube must not be used on a motorcycle driven for racing or competition or above recommended speeds. c) Consequential Damages Excluded TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CONTINENTAL DISCLAIMS LIABILITY FOR ALL CONSEQUENTIAL AND INCIDENTAL DAMAGES. THE REMEDIES SET FORTH IN THIS LIMITED WARRANTY ARE THE SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDIES FOR BREACH OF WARRANTY. SOME U.S. STATES AND/OR CANADIAN PROVINCES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATION OR EXCLUSION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. THIS LIMITED WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS, AND YOU MAY ALSO HAVE OTHER RIGHTS WHICH VARY FROM U.S. STATE TO STATE OR CANADIAN PROVINCE TO PROVINCE. 3. Owner’s Obligations Purchaser Required to Pay for Dealer Services and Taxes: The cost of mounting, balancing and any other charges made by the dealer in connection with the replacement of the tire are required to be paid by the purchaser. The purchaser is also required to pay all applicable state and local taxes. 4. Final Recommendations/Safety Warning ° Replace all tires which show the treadwear indicators, meaning the tire is worn to the last 1/32nd of an inch. These “bald” tires are dangerous, especially on wet roads. ° Inspect your tires frequently for scrapes, bulges, separations, punctures, cracks, cuts, snags, or foreign objects embedded in your tires, and other damage from road hazards. Damage from impact can occur to the inner portions of your tire without being visible to the outside. If you suspect a tire has been damaged from striking anything unusual in the road, you must have the tire removed from the rim and inspected both inside and out by a trained tire specialist. Air loss or unusual tire wear can also be warning signs that a tire may have internal damage. If you notice these conditions, have your tire inspected by a Continental motorcycle tire dealer at once. ° Tire failure due to under inflation/overloading – follow the owner’s manual of your vehicle for proper inflation and loading. 1830 MacMillan Park Drive Fort Mill, SC 29707 ° Above all, ride sensibly. Fast starts, sudden stops and hard cornering will reduce the mileage you obtain from your tires. ° Ignoring any of the safety and information contained in this limited warranty and adjustment policy may result in tire failure, causing serious injury or death.
