They have a nice weight to them and are quality made. A bulb will have to be bought separately. Yes!!! I absolutely LOVE these lamps! I was worried that for the price they would be those ones you get that are flimsy and have a USB charger, but they are sturdy and have an actual U.S. plug. And not to mention, it takes a real bulb. I got the light colored ones, they are like a cream color. They are made of heavyweight material, and even though it is made of resin, it feels and looks like real wood. There is some assembly required, but the instructions are very thorough, and it's super easy to put together. I added some pictures of the lamps and how it all comes before assembly and right after. I used a 9 watt (equal to an old 60 watt) bulb, and the shade gives off plenty of light in the room. I added some pictures of how it comes packaged, it's very safe, and cost saving! It has the basic rotary switch, with a turn knob, that most lamps have, and has a nice long cord. It looks fantastic, and takes up a lot less room than other lamp bases, but even with how slim it is, there is zero danger of it falling over with the heavy base. I'm sorry this became such a long review, but I wanted to make sure I included details that would be helpful to people, and I'm just thrilled at how good the lamps turned out to be. Thanks!
