OTC OTC6295 Front End Service Tool Set - 5 Pack

IMHO, OTC provides a quality product, at respectable pricing . They stand behind their product and will provide replacement, in the unlikely event of a factory defect. Their customer service is friendly, knowledgeable and respectful of their customers. I have dealt directly with them in the past. That said, this front and service set (OTC6295) is more of a entry level, week-end use tool, as opposed to a every-day-use mechanic/ASE technician product. It does do the job. My justification for these comments, and the four star rating, is due to the loose tolerances of the outer tie rod remover (OTC7503), contained with in the set. With only 3 to 4 uses of the outer tie rod remover, the threads on the drawbar, were damaged from rubbing on the leg/jaw of the tie rod remover. This appears to be caused by excessive play in the center joint nut. In a ideal, on the tie rod application, the drawbar would be centered between the Jaws. However, this does not happen in a real world, on the vehicle application. I was able to repair the thread, to useable condition, with a file and stone. This I'm sure, would not allow me to be able to get a replacement tool or threaded rod, as I did provide a repair. I will continue to use the outer tire rod remover until it fails completely. The other components within the set worked flawlessly. This set is an Asian import, and may be an issue to the technician who makes thier livlehood with thier tools.
