Lid locks stink
1 out of 5 stars review

Why do we all need to have a lid lock anyway

I'm beyond furious that our federal government mandates these lid locks. I have NO children in the house, even as visitors. GE, you need to create a bypass button or something like that and place it on the back so that we can turn this very annoying feature off. And why was the old part replaced anyway? I want a real response. Not just your usual word salad no-answer.

Hello there, we're sorry to hear you're so unsatisfied with the lid lock feature on your washer. We understand this is frustrating and we apologize for the inconvenience. This lock is in place as a safety feature and there is no way to bypass it. The old part was replaced as we're always trying to improve and make updates. We encourage you to take a look at the following article: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=23192&_ga=2.123277507.933226275.1664221150-1990870561.1664221150. Cut your losses now and buy a different washer.

My old lock was busted for sure. Error code for critical lock failure. Cleared code, installed this new part per included instuctions(which are not availible on the website because its a pain to dissable half a washer to install new part with integral wiring when you can just reach in and get the old switch out.) New switch does not work, not even once. Every time the code is cleared and only code that appears is lock failure. The new part even ohms correctly.
