More expensive than turf savers but much more traction than turf savers, in my case the tires tread style makes no difference to the health of my yard when put on the mower. These are well-made tires. For the varied terrain to mow on our property, I will continue to use these herring-bone tread/super lug/ag style tires for the foreseeable future. The only spring in the suspension on the 20 year old lawn tractor of ours is a spring under the seat and its not much different ride feel when compared to a turf-saver on the yard. With the turf saver style tires, I would have to get unstuck or slip the tires or loose traction at least once during a mowing. With these ag style tires I have not lost traction once since installing which makes getting the mower unstuck no longer a chore I need to do. It has not damaged my lawn which does grow vigorously though it has been only used when it is dry enough to mow. I imagine traction would be great in mud/very wet conditions but could damage a lawn if its that wet. Used once a week for 4 months this summer and the mowers just been sitting in the yard. Hasn't been on pavement and the tires still look new, still somewhat hairy.
