The tongue never forgets!
I forgot how good these were, and honestly I had forgotten about them from my youth. So when Walmart suggested them in my online order, I was excited to get them. That rich, buttery-soft, outer cookie is one that I have never found to be the same in any snack out there, and I bet Nabisco has it on IP lockdown. The figgy filling is unusual to find in the US. We just don't eat enough figs around here. Of course, it's sweet and fruity, but the inner core of the snack drapes your tongue with a thick, strong umami experience, as well! The price is reminiscent of old-school prices, to boot. It's less than $ .50 for a pack of two extra -long cookies. I don't think I'll forget about these going forward, and I hope that Nabisco never remembers to increase the price of the 10-pack. I was halfway finished with the set after just one day.

Nabisco has so many things to eat that are good. I always liked the fig newton's. The cookie around the fig mixture is not the same it used to be. I don't know why, but it's dryer than I remember. I remember it was soft and chewy, but it is dry and a little to crunchy then it used to be. I still like it and I buy them, but I have to have something to drink with them. I don't know if the company has changed that recipe or cooking them a little to long, I just know that crustiness I don't like it and I wish they would go back to the softer cookie crust that they had for years. Now, that's my preference. You might like how they are. I remember how they were from my childhood through some of my adult years.
