Howards End (Masterpiece) (DVD), PBS (Direct), Drama

Bit of an anglophile here, mostly because of the architecture, but also the classic stories. Four marquee actors do this updated version justice. Actually, all actors but one were well cast for this movie.

This was made for television, so it was different than the movie version. I purchased this because of Julia Ormond, great Actor. Her role was appropriately short and very well done, a pleasant character with a strong significance to the story. The 4 episodes were as beautiful as the movie. If you can, watch both the movie theater version and PBS are very entertaining. The British architectural and interior design of the period is splendid. The mannerisms and fashion are beautiful.
