[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Renew ceiling fan is even better than pictured! The fan is well designed with clean lines and will stand out in your home! Fan installation is super easy and straight forward too. I am very pleased with this fan and look forward to years of using it. To begin, the fan was well packaged and most component parts were already put together, which was a plus. This reduced installation time and trying to figure out what part fit with the other parts. The fan comes with all required installation parts except for a mounting / junction box that attaches to the ceiling. Be sure to figure out what type / size of box you need before starting installation. I recommend fully reading the instructions at least one time before going to the hardware store to get mounting parts / tools. The installation instructions are generally clear and easy to read. The instructions contain clear diagrams / pictures for reference too, which were useful. However, the instructions are written in a way that assumes you have experience with installing ceiling fans. The instructions could use a bit more detail to help the installer that has minimal experience. The fan contains an installed safety cable for connecting to the ceiling. The top of page 11 of the instructions states the cable is required for the Canadian market only. However, don't skip reading this page because of the Canadian caveat - it is a good idea to go ahead and install the cable even if not required by your local law. I have heard stories from others who have had ceiling fans drop from their ceilings. Certainly a properly installed safety cable would have prevented such. I was impressed that the ceiling mounting bracket contained a hook for hanging the fan body / canopy while you are making the electrical wire connections from the fan to the ceiling. This hook is innovative and helpful for a one-person installation as the hook alleviates the need for a second person to hold the fan body while electrical connections are made. Great forward thinking, Kichler! The fan comes with PLENTY of installed wiring and I had to cut about four feet of wire to shorten it for the install. After completing the installation and turning on the power to test the fan for the first time, I immediately noticed how quiet the fan was and how well balanced the fan blades seemed to be. Very little balancing adjustment was required. Overall, I am very pleased with the fan, installation instructions and simple installation requirements. I would certainly buy additional Kichler products in the future.
