I bought this product because the hot water in my washer isn't very hot. I now wash my towels and sheets in cold water and use this product. I don't normally like scented products of any kind, but this is an exception. The crisp linen smell is delicate and pleasing - just like crisp linen. I have not conducted any scientific experiments to determine if it actually kills germs. I'll have to trust Lysol on that one. My towels and sheets do seem very clean and fresh after using this, though.
