Heart-warming %26 Educational!

With its reassuring message of possibilities and beautiful illustrations, this book encourages a love of nature without being preachy. I bought one for a new teacher, thinking it's perfect for Earth Day, and that it could easily connect to life-cycle-of-a-butterfly lessons, or lessons on adjectives and verbs. The vocabulary within is both familiar words (small) and richer words (grand), so it's enjoyable and educational. But Jennifer Raudenbush uses the exactly right words to talk about things you can show a child outside. The author's descriptions are perfect!
