Wool Connoiseurs Rejoice!

I deliberated for some time before buying this but I am glad I did. This book is for handknitters who mainly appreciate natural colored wool from lesser known sheep breeds. These breeds are ones with wool that big industry has no use for or cannot process satisfactorily; either because they do not have the standard dyeable white color, or due to their fleece type with long and double coated fleeces among them. I would add that if you are a handspinner you will get even more out of this book with all the information on the fleece characteristics of select breeds listed including micron count, luster, etc. The book has European styling as would be expected with Blacker yarns which is what brand the book is written for, though substitution is always possible especially if able to spin your own. There is a variety of accessories, household items, and garments that are so "wearable." I can see myself making nearly all of them since most are classic, and appropriate for a variety of situations. There are many photos of the sheep and projects with clarity depending on how light or dark the yarn is. Wish it were longer!
