Sites and Townships Specific To This Map Are: Willem Janszoon Blaeuw, with the assistance of his son, Joan, introduced the "Golden Age" of the Dutch Cartography. Willem Blaeuw is attributed to the first beautiful maps of the known world and published the first atlas in Amsterdam, where he was born in 1571. In 1605 he published a wall map that was 8 feet in length and was made up of 20 sheets. During this period, this map was seen to be the most accurate description available.
