It was bit too small but we still would have kept them but it is see through. When my daughter was standing and not even bending over you could clearly see her underwear and/or print and outline of her gymnastics leotard and even the colors through the shorts. I guess that's to be expected slightly? With light fabric? But not really when it comes to this type of shorts. Because they're made for dance or gymnastics and with gymnastics anyway, they don't wear anything under their leotards. Usually they look like a one piece bikini, so a lot of the girls wear shirts with them. But why would you want shorts that are see-through that you can see underneath of them so clearly. Having to return. I recommend buying the higher-quality brand like Nike Pro or similar, you get what you pay for! Or there is a $10 pair of gymnastics/dance shorts that is Justice brand from Walmart that has a crisscross waistband. Those work great. And they are only $10
