Best product for the price

No need to spend more money at the auto stores when this has everything you need. I recently bought an older model Lexus ES300 with several small issues, and I've made it a habit to regularly put $20 bucks or so into fixing them 1 at a time. My A/C was working, but not very efficiently - the air failed to blow cold when idling. Not a large enough issue to warrant squeezing an expensive repair into my budget. I had seen similar products sold at several different auto stores, all of which were significantly more expensive. I picked this one up for under $20 @ a Neighborhood Market, and was slightly concerned about the quality, as it was almost half the price of the other 134a + gauge products I had priced. Best 20 bucks I've spent on this car to date. I was fortunate enough to only need half of this large can, and my air is now ice cold at all times. I no longer have to keep the A/C on full blast the entire time I'm in my car. I recently mentioned this product to a friend who told me she had just paid someone $100 to put refrigerant in her vehicle. As a woman with limited knowledge of what goes on under the hood of my car, I found it quite simple to look up a 5-minute instructional video on the web, and afterward add the refrigerant to my car in another 5 minutes start to finish. The gauge/hose attachment on this product is a bit shorter than the ones you will pay nearly twice as much for at the auto stores. It was not an issue for me, but I would suggest taking a quick look under the hood before puncturing the can to ascertain whether that will be an issue for your type of vehicle. At the end of the day, I invested a 20 dollar bill and 5-10 minutes of my time and I'm feeling pretty smart. And cold. I even offered to recharge my friend's car for half the price she paid last time ;)

Great product, easy to use.

This product worked great for me. The instructions are straightforward and the product seems well-constructed. It took me less than 15 minutes from the time I started reading the instructions until my AC blasting cold air. Everything went as described and according to plan except for a couple of minor things. The outside temperature was high 80s so the chart on the can said I needed to pump in enough product to raise the gauge to at least 45 PSI. But my AC unit seemed to quit taking in the product and was blowing Ice Cold Air before the gauge got to 45 PSI My car was blowing what I would call barely cool air when I started the recharge and when I hooked up the hose to the valve it showed a reading in the blue range of about 33 psi. I begin dispensing the product by switching the dispenser valve into the unlocked position and pressing down on the lever while occasionally shaking and moving the can as directed by the instructions. After a couple of minutes the gauge slowly eased up into the green range past 40 PSI. It got to around 41 or 42 PSI and then seemed to quit moving, as if it wouldn't take any more coolant. I shook the can and kept pressing the button for about another minute. Then leaving the can attached, I set it down on a cooler surface under my hood and checked the inside of my car. The AC was blowing ice cold so I detached the canister and ended the procedure. Maybe because I parked the car in the shade the outside temperature was not properly detected meaning that I really didn't need 45 PSI in the system. In any case, I will suggest pumping it in and periodically checking the temperature in the car and if filling starts to slow down and the AC is ice cold, you are done. The only other thing I would watch out for is when you are shaking the canister and moving it while pumping the product in, sometimes the valve can twist and become locked again so while you are still pushing down on it and thinking it is releasing product it actually isn't.
