Tough and lightweight. Perfect.
It's super lightweight and that's exactly what I need. The Roadrunner case I had for my use this for my Jumbo Seagull was so heavy I'd get muscle spasms and fatigued just carrying it which would impact my playing (I have muscle issues). So, I know to avoid inexpensive cases made of particle board and decided to try a molded styrene case. It's great, the only problem is, I have a Danelectro 12-string solid-body that I was told would fit in a Jazzmaster case. Well...it didn't! I had to use a steak knife to carve out the difference. But you know? That actually worked really well. The knife had a small, serrated blade, and worked perfectly to cut the felt fabric as well as the styrene. The fabric was in such good shape that I was able to glue it back on to cover up the "scar" that I'd cut out. What wouldn't cover I used black Sharpie on and you can't tell that I even cut into the styrene since the interior is all black. I've only had it a few months, but it's plenty tough to be loaded in and out of a second story practice space - I'm glad to have found it.
