Beautiful but sad no birds would eat it!

The wreath was truly beautiful to look at through our windows as it hung on one of our bird feeder poles. I was impressed that whole cashews were even included in the wreath. We watched as various types of wild birds landed on the pole. To our disappointment, day after day, not one of them would peck at it. I'm wondering if the glue used to maintain the togetherness of the wreath was a turn-off to the birds.
