Very Nice

This bulb has been a welcome replacement for even my cfl bulbs. It has a sprayed on heat sink material above the base of the bulb that does a decent job of letting off heat and keeping the overall bulb cool. The verdict is still out as to how many hours I will get out of these bulbs. So, time will tell. The 5000k color output is a very bright white, so it is great for areas where task lighting is needed. I tried these in our down light cans in the kitchen, above the counter, and my wife just loves them. I use them above my shop table also. IMO, these are much better than the cfl bulbs. They are much more power efficient as well, which will eventually offset the cost. They also don't require a warm up time, like cfl bulbs do, to obtain the rated output. Instant on and brightness, just like the old incandescent bulbs did, but, with much less energy use. So, my only negative is that I wish these bulbs will continue to come down in price.

Lightweight, bright clean light

just purchased, I have tried others and did not care for the design and weight. I really like the 5000k white light versus 2700k (orange) light better. As far as durability...only time will tell.
