How to Use the Probe?

The receiver's probe is made of coiled steel and can be bent as needed to reach wires in crowded or difficult areas. The probe will pick up signals from the wire at a range of locations, depending on the circuit characteristics and sensitivity setting. However, for best range, the receiver's probe tip (black cap) should be placed vertically (90o) above or below the wire being traced.
